Bus Service Improvements
Benefits in improving bus services
The road network needs to move people and goods efficiently to ensure the social and economic well being of our communities. Buses have a vital role to play in this as they can make excellent use of limited road space, carrying many more passengers than a private car for a given amount of road space.
What is LBPN?
The London Bus Priority Network (LBPN) covers all borough roads that carry buses. The network consists of measures that assist bus movement by improving journey speeds and reliability. The LBPN partnership is well established and is recognised by Transport for London and boroughs alike.
Bus Stop Accessibility
The council works in partnership with Transport for London to improve accessibility to bus services in the borough by implementing bus stop clearways at every bus stop, providing adequate height kerbs and improving passengers waiting area.
