What happens to recycling

Recycling is collected in different ways in Haringey, depending on the types of items and where they are being picked up from.

Source separated collections

The source separated collections page provides information about recycling that is collected in different containers. This includes collections from:

  • On-street recycling banks
  • Reuse & Recycling Centres
  • Green boxes on the Sorted Recycling Service

Mixed material collections

The mixed material collections page gives details on how different types of recycling can be collected from the same boxes and bins. This includes collections from:

  • Green boxes on the Mixed Recycling Service (which is being introduced across the borough during 2008)
  • Recycling facilities at many blocks of flats and housing estates
  • Blue bag collections on housing estates

Organic recycling

The organic recycling page provides more information about the local composting facility where the food waste and garden waste collected in Haringey is taken.
