Give us your unwanted vehicle

Don’t leave your old car or van on the street or in the garden – let us take it away for you free of charge.  

In person

Simply complete the ‘application to surrender’ form and bring it along with a form of identification and your V5 vehicle registration document (log book) to the address below, or your local Customer Services Centre.

Please post the completed documents recorded delivery.

• We will do our best to remove your unwanted vehicle within two working days of receiving your application form.
• It does not matter if your vehicle is untaxed when we take it away.
• We will dispose of your vehicle in full compliance with environmental regulations and controls.
• When you surrender your car, you give up all rights to the vehicle. The Council will not accept any claims or liabilities incurred during your ownership or any previous ownership.
