Appeals on Bus Lanes

Bus lane outside the Civic CentreIf you received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for driving in a bus lane, then you may make an appointment to view the video of the contravention if you feel the Notice has been issued in error. Please telephone 0845 073 1234 to make an appointment.

We will not put your case on hold if you elect to view the video. In order to benefit from the 50% payment concession, you must make payment within 14 days beginning with the date of issue on the PCN. However, a refund will be made if a later investigation shows that the PCN was issued in error.

You can write to us at PO Box 38996, London, N22 9AF.

Representations may be made on the Enforcement Notice on one of the following grounds:

  • I sold the vehicle before the date of the contravention
  • I bought the vehicle after the date of the contravention
  • I have never owned the vehicle
  • The Contravention did not occur
  • The Contravention has already been dealt with by the Police / Traffic Warden / Civil Enforcement Officer (formerly known as a Parking Attendant)

Please be sure to provide evidence to support your representations.

We will consider your representations and reply to you. If the ticket cannot be cancelled, you will be told the reason why and sent a form that will allow you to appeal to the independent adjudicators, or you can pay at the full rate. If we accept your representations the ticket will be cancelled.

Appeals over the telephone will not be accepted.
