Environmental Crime

Dealing with Environmental Crime

Haringey is investing heavily in enforcement. Three separate teams have been set up to deal with the most difficult, high profile and significant environmental crimes and criminals affecting the borough.

The three teams share a common aim of making the streets and open spaces within the borough cleaner, greener and safer. The teams also work to reduce anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime in our communites.

Environmental crimes are those that degrade our public and open spaces and reduce the quality of life of those that live and work in the borough.

They include:

  • fly posting and fly tipping
  • abandoned vehicles
  • unauthorised and nuisance developments
  • rogue trading
  • anti social behaviour.
