HAVCO

Haringey Association of Voluntary and Community Organisations (HAVCO) is the area's Council for Voluntary Service that launched on the 11 June 2003. The organisation's aim is to serve Haringey's voluntary and community sector by promoting, representing and supporting its diverse needs.

HAVCO provides support through:

  • information (eg via newsletters, website and partnership work)
  • development (eg such as Capacity Building ad Fundraising services)
  • networking opportunities (eg VCS Wellbeing Theme Group, Community Learning Forum and Advice Providers Network)
  • funding opportunities
  • training, advice and practical assistance
  • access to a resource library
  • volunteering centre (coordinating local volunteering and sign-posting volunteers)
  • representation (at Haringey's Strategic Partnership Boards and other networks)

Also, through other benefits it receives through affiliation to the NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and other bodies.
