Chestnuts Park

Award winning Chestnuts Park has a distinctive avenue of plane trees marking out the western, southern and northern boundaries. An open playing field covers the majority of the western side of the Park with the café and picnic terrace overlooking the new, state of the art playground for various ages, to the south.
The eastern half of the park contains newly refurbished tennis courts, basketball area, and a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).
The Park Pavilion houses the Chestnuts pre-school playgroup and play centre, and the community centre is located in the south-east corner on St Ann’s Road.
In 2008 improvements to the Park were completed by the Council in partnership with the New Deal for Communities team (NDC) and the Friends of Chestnuts Park. In May a Community Day was held, organised by the Friends, to celebrate the improvements to the Park.
The Park's first Green Flag was awarded in July 2008 in recognition of the high standards that have been created within the park and all the hard work that has been achieved by all involved.
