Nine parks managed by Haringey Council have been declared as being among the best in the country.

Chestnuts Park is the newest edition to the borough's collection of nine Green Flag Parks, winning its Green Flag in 2008.

Albert Road Recreation Ground, Bruce Castle Park, Chapmans Green, Downhills Park, Finsbury Park, Priory Park, Stationers Park and Railway Fields Local Nature Reserve all retained their existing Green Flags.

The Civic Trust also awarded Green Flag status to Highgate Wood (managed by the Corporation of London), Alexandra Park (run by the Alexandra Palace Trust) and Tottenham Marshes (run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority) - bringing the total Green Flag parks in Haringey to 12.

Under the criteria, sites are judged to be welcoming, safe and well managed, with active community involvement. The scheme recognises the value of green spaces in communities, particularly urban environments and rewards excellent standards of park management.

If you would like to read the full management plans or executive summaries of the management plans for all nine of our award winning parks, they are available to download below. As is a feedback form for you to comment on any of these Plans.

Alternatively get yourself down to the parks and open spaces and discover why they are among the best in the country!
