Youth Offending Service

The Youth Offending Service (YOS) is a multi-disciplinary team which is made up of

  • Social Workers,
  • Police Officers,

  • Education,
  • Parenting,
  • Connexions,
  • Group and Substance Misuse Workers and
  • Referral Panel Volunteers.

The Prevention Team within the YOS has been restructured from April 1 2008 and is now the Haringey Youth On Track Team. This team incorporates the work formerly done by Haringey On Track, the YISP and the Junior YIP.

The Prevention Team include On Track, Youth Inclusion and Support Panel and Junior Youth Inclusion Programme.

The three other teams in the YOS work with children and young people aged 10 to 17 who have committed offences, some of the work is to prevent re-offending. The YOS also works with the victims of crime.

We are committed to working with all young people regardless of their race or background.

  • Holiday programs
  • Parent support
  • Multi-agency

Community Panel Member (volunteer)

The Community Panel Member Volunteer manages 2 volunteer projects, Community Panel Members (CPM) and Reparation Volunteers.

Working as a volunteer on a Youth Offender Panel gives you the opportunity to be involved in creating a programme of activities for a young person who offends, which will help ensure that they repair any real, or perceived harm caused by their offending behaviour along with addressing key aspects of their lives that may cause them to engage in offending activities.

If you would like to enquire about volunteering opportunities within Haringey Youth Offending Service, please contact the Volunteer Community Panel Member.
