Haringey children's centres also run drop-ins (stay and play sessions) where parents are present while the child enjoys mixing with other children. Sessions also provide parents with an opportunity to meet and chat with other locally based parents.

Tax Credits
If your chosen childcare provider is approved through Ofsted you can claim Tax Credits. You may also be entitled to help with the costs of childcare depending on your family income. Here is a list of Tax Credit benefits that you may be able to claim

Early Years Free Entitlement
Every three and four year old is entitled to 15 hours a week of free early education over a minimum of 38 weeks of the year which means it usually provided during term-time only. A child becomes eligible to receive their free entitlement from the term after their third birthday.

Employer Supported Childcare
There are a number of ways you may be able to get support from your employer towards childcare costs. You can save money through Tax and National Insurance Contributions (NICs) exemptions such as:
- Childcare vouchers
- Childcare subsidies
- Workplace provision

Teenage parents - Care to Learn Scheme
If you are a parent aged 20 or under at the start of your course and are in education or training the Care to Learn scheme can pay for part of your childcare and travel costs while you are learning. You can claim childcare costs while you are attending school, college or another education provider.

Training (over 19 year olds) - help with childcare costs
Contact Student Support or the Welfare Officer at your college or university who can advise you on how to get help with your childcare costs. Alternatively charities may be able to help.
