Starting Secondary School 2009 or Year 6 in 2008/9
You must apply immediately for a secondary school place, for your child, if they were born between 01 September 1997 and 31 August 1998.
Late applications
To make changes to an application you have already lodged please see below.
Applications received after the closing date of 24 October 2008 will be considered after all the other applications that were received before that date. In exceptional circumstances, the Authority may allow late applications to be considered as ‘on time’, but independent written evidence of why the family were prevented from applying on time will be required. Parents should note that where applications are received late (after 24 October 2008) and there is no exceptional reason for lateness, the chances of being offered a place for your child at one of your preferred schools will be severely reduced.
The process is different depending on whether you are a Haringey resident or a non-Haringey resident.
- Secondary Transfer (Year 6) for Haringey residents
- Secondary Transfer (Year 6) for non-Haringey residents
At this age, your child must be attending a primary school in year six. Follow the procedures below to apply for a year six place at a Haringey primary school for the current school year.
