Education for Children in Care

The Children in Care Education Team (CiCET) work to raise the educational attainment and attendance of children and young people in the care of Haringey Council.

In 2000 the government produce statutory guidance named 'The education of children in public care'. This was due to the recognised high levels of underachievement in education for children in care. Since this time the government has continued to make children in care a high priority in schools and on the agendas of the local authority.

We support, monitor and work with children and young people in care to assist them in accessing provision to achieve their full potential and support and advise those who care and work with them.

We are a multi-disciplined team, we assess needs and provide support on an individual and cohort basis.
