Children's Fund

The Children's Fund is a government initiative intended to prevent social exclusion.
The aim is to fund projects that run activities and provide support to young children aged between 5 to 13 who need it the most. With an emphasis on:
- Children, young people and families most at risk of exclusion through poverty and disadvantage.
- Adding value to, building on, or linking with existing Government initiatives or local projects.
- Promoting the participation of local families, children and young people in the design and working of the programme.
- Being culturally appropriate and sensitive to particular needs.
- Minimising local bureaucracy by building on suitable existing local partnerships which reflects improved joint working and co-ordination between sectors.
"giving our youngsters a voice, hearing what they say
giving them a choice, somewhere safe to play
helping them achieve their best and work together
caring for themselves and of course each other!"
Poem from Junior Exposure Magazine
