Is nursing care free?

Community care charges in a residential or nursing home

If you become resident in a nursing home, the NHS will fund part of the cost of your care. The local Primary Care Trust will visit you to assess the level of NHS funding that you are eligible for.

This is unlikely to affect the amount that you are required to pay, unless you pay the full cost of your care. The Charge Statement we send you will show the level of NHS funding and whether this affects your contribution.
