Floating support
This is linked to a person wherever they live and may include people:
- living on their own
- who rent Council property
- who rent Housing Association and privately rented property
- who own their own homes
- who have children and are finding it difficult to cope
Floating support is free and can be accessed by anyone who needs it by calling the following numbers:

There are specialist floating support services for people from particular Ethnic Communities and information on these services is available by contacting:

Haringey Safe and Sound
The service can provide you with an emergency alarm in your own home. You can use this to call for assistance if you have an accident or you are the victim of a crime.

Metropolitan Care and Repair
This service helps vulnerable people by doing minor repairs to their homes, gardening, adapting some areas of disabled or older people’s homes, and advice and support to keep you safe from crime.

Accommodation with support
We may also be able to offer services linked to the place where you live, for example:
- Sheltered housing for people who
- are older
- have mental health problems
- have a learning disability
- have physical disabilities and sensory impairments
- Supported hostels for the homeless, offenders and people recovering from substance misuse
- Refuges for survivors of domestic violence
- Supported training flats for care leavers and other young people at risk
Some of these services provide support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
