Alternative Providers of Care
What is a provider service?
A provider service can be any organisation, agency, group of people or individual, which supplies a service in the community, home, hospital or hospice.
Below is a list of agencies that are run on a voluntary or private basis, totally separate from the Council.
These are agencies that the Council has approved and use when they need to do so, depending on the needs of the person and the resources that they have available at the time. It is possible for you to contact them directly for services providing you are prepared to pay for the hourly rate.

You will find downloadable lists of the following organisations, along with details of how to contact them, in the attached files section at the bottom of this page:

Hospices provide care specifically for terminally ill people and give support to their carers both in the hospice and at home. Admission is arranged through your doctor or hospital consultant. Some private nursing and rest homes also specialise in the care of the terminally ill. Your doctor or hospital consultant should know of such homes in your area. Go to the external links section on this page for further information.
