Meals on wheels
Eighty per cent of clients who took part in our Community Meals Survey for Drop in Centres said that they are satisfied with the variety, quality and taste of the meals. Ninety-nine per cent said that the Centre staff are polite and helpful.
We deliver a daily meal to people in their own homes seven days a week, all year round, between 12 noon and 2pm.
There is a charge of £3.00 per meal.
You can select which meals you would like from a list of over 40 choices. We have recently expanded the selection of dishes available, and cater for a wide range of cultural groups, including Asian, African-Caribbean, Cypriot and Kosher.
All meals are suitable for people with diabetes, and we can also provide menus for people on low-fat and lactose-free diets or anyone who requires puréed food.
Who can receive meals on wheels?
Anyone who lives in Haringey can apply for meals on wheels. A Social Services care manager will carry out an assessment and, if the eligibility criteria are met, you can receive a subsidised meal costing £2.75. A privately arranged meals service is available to all those not meeting the eligibility criteria. For more information about the service for private clients, download the Sodexho leaflet from the Attached Files section.
