Alexandra Road Crisis Unit

  • We provide a residential service for people who are experiencing mental distress or severe emotional distress and are in need of short-term, 24-hour support as an alternative to hospital admission.
  • We also provide short-term respite stays for people with mental health difficulties or whose carers are in urgent need of respite.The ground floor of the unit is accessible to disabled people.

If you require interpreting services or information in a different language we will be happy to arrange it.

How to access our services

You will need a referral from any mental health professional working with you. Alternatively, you can refer yourself by telephone.

We will need to have information about you, including:

  • the name of your psychiatrist and care co-ordinator
  • your psychiatric history
  • details of your medication
  • reason for referral
  • aim of referral
  • your physical health needs
  • your post-discharge plans.
