About Neighbourhoods Connect
Our aim is to ensure that communities in Haringey are better able to look after people who are or may become vulnerable. This means the council working closely with its partners, and with residents, to ensure that older people in particular are able to maintain their independence and live with dignity.
It means helping people in need of support to get it. Maybe they are lonely or at an increased risk, because of their age or frailty, of falling at home. Or maybe they aren’t accessing the resources they need: whether that’s the benefits or grants they’re entitled to, or local leisure facilities.
Perhaps they just want somebody to talk to. While the council continues to provide social care (and other) services in the traditional way, more often what is lacking is the sort of straightforward and timely help that can make this unnecessary.
