Pet Care

If you go into hospital or for a short stay in a residential or nursing home, you will need someone to look after your pet.

The most common option is to ask a family member, good neighbour or friend to help. If not, for cats and dogs, you can use a local kennel or cattery. You can find details of these in your local telephone directory.

You could ask your local veterinary surgeon (see the 'Any UK vet' website in the external links section below) or ask the local Animal Warden at the address below to suggest some options.

The Cinnamon Trust (see website in the external links section below) is also a charitable organisation with 4,500 registered volunteers across the UK. They may be able to help you find pet care if you have to go into hospital.

If you are unable to arrange this yourself, adult social care may be able to help. Please call our main switchboard on 020 8489 0000 for help.
