Haringey Carers Partnership Board
The Haringey Carers Partnership Board (CPB) is a decision making, action planning and influencing body concerned with improving the lives of unpaid carers in Haringey. It is made up of representatives of all the organisations and agencies which have a stake in supporting carers, and carers themselves.
In 2008 we reviewed the membership and purposes of the Carers Partnership Board. We wanted to strengthen carers’ involvement in the work of the Board and make sure carers’ voices are heard.
We invited carers on Haringey’s Carers Register to put themselves forward if they were interested in joining the Board. 36 carers responded. We arranged information and induction sessions for would-be members, and 19 carers confirmed their willingness to become members of the Board. Carers are full and equal partners with every other member of the Board. We currently have 15 carer representatives on the Board.
The work of the CPB is concerned with promoting well-being: the well-being of the whole population of Haringey, the well-being of people who have care needs and the well-being of people who provide unpaid care.
At the away day in August 2010, the CPB reviewed and revised its terms of reference, which are available in the attached files section below. Here you will also find the Code of Conduct which all members of the Board sign.
Membership of the Board is open to Haringey carers and ex-carers. The person cared for should live in Haringey but their carer may live in or out of the Borough.
