National Carers Week 2009

Time to unwind

A series of events were set up for carers in Haringey to coincide with National Carers Week.

The week – which ran from June 8 until June 14 - highlighted the vital work done by those who provide unpaid care for someone who is ill, frail or disabled. The theme for the event was: Carers… the UK’s secret service.

Events included complementary therapy sessions, bowling, a day trip to Margate and a barge trip along the Regents Canal.

The end of the week saw the selection of the person chosen as this year’s Haringey Carer of the Year.
