Adult social care in Haringey provides help and support to those aged over 18 years who are vulnerable. Vulnerable people include:
- older people
- people with a physical disability, or sight or hearing impairment
- people with mental health needs
- people with learning disabilities
- people who misuse substances (such as drugs and alcohol)
- people with long-term illness
- people who need sheltered or supported housing
- carers

We offer a wide range of services, such as:
- home care and meals on wheels
- drop-in advice and support centres
- day opportunities including training and employment initiatives
- respite and residential care
- support and rehabilitation on leaving hospital or to prevent hospital admission
- help for carers

On 29 November 2007, CSCI published its Summary Report (see attached files section) for Haringey’s 2006/07 annual performance assessment of social care services for Adult Services.Overall Haringey has shown continuing improvement in performance, in both the delivery and modernisation of social care services for Adults.
