Dear resident,
Summer is here, and the council has organised what promises to be our biggest-ever programme of events and activities for young people during the long school holidays.
Youth centres, schools and community centres across the borough will be hosting Summer Uni activities, everything from music and dance to cooking, sports and more, with many of the courses offering accreditation and achievement certificates.
There are sessions through the summer as well in our libraries, children’s centres, play centres and Bruce Castle Museum, and our leisure centres, where under-16’s pay less if they sign up to our Active Juniors discount card.
We’re not forgetting older people, and our full guide to services, clubs, activities and organisations offering help and support will be published in the autumn, in partnership with Age Concern Haringey and the primary care trust. It’s already on our website - see our Older People's Guide.
Finally, we are planning ahead to improve our roads and transport in the borough over the coming years, and we want to know what you think are the most important areas for investment.
Whether it’s pothole repairs, more crossings or better lighting, you can give us your top three suggestions, on the website or the freepost post card attached, and we will spend more in those areas.
Cllr George Meehan
Leader, Haringey Council
