Dear resident,

The New Year is traditionally a time for resolutions, and if your plan is to get fit in 2008 you need look no further than the council’s three leisure centres, Tottenham Green leisure centre, Park Road in Crouch End and White Hart Lane sports centre. All three offer top of the range facilities at affordable prices for people of all ages, and youngsters get a special discount through our Active Juniors card.

If you want to exercise the brain as well as the body, and get some new skills for the New Year, why not take a look at the wide range of courses on offer from the Haringey Adult Learning service.

Adult learning has definitely shaken off its old night school image, with day and weekend as well as evening sessions, many of them leading to recognized qualifications. Courses are now starting up for the first time in Highgate library, with a 20 per cent introductory discount on fees. Enrolment runs through January.

The council has some resolutions too, continuing to work with our partners in the Haringey Strategic Partnership to deliver the excellent value for money services you deserve, encouraging lifetime well being and independent living, and making Haringey one of the greenest boroughs in London.

We will be working hard on these priorities in 2008. May I wish you and your families all our very best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year.

Leader, Haringey Council
