Dear resident,

We hear a lot about young people these days, but not enough about the excellent contribution many of our young people make to the life of our borough.

I’m proud therefore that the council has launched a new Young Haringey Heroes award, celebrating everything from personal sporting, artistic and academic achievement to volunteering, caring and helping others. See our Young Heroes feature for details of our first winners from across the borough. I hope everyone in Haringey will join with me in congratulating them for their achievements.

To keep our youngsters busy over the summer we have activities of all kinds for all ages, and you can find out more on our Summer Fun page or by calling 020 8489 1546.

We have also launched our Greenest Borough Strategy, bringing together all our plans for tackling climate change at a local level and improving our environment over the next 10 years.
