Smarter Travel means Smarter Shopping in Crouch End

Publication date: Wednesday 20 June 2012

Cycle or walk to Crouch End Broadway shops and get a discount on your shopping. That was the call from the council's Smarter Travel Team who set up stall near Hornsey Town Hall last weekend to encourage Crouch Enders to ditch the car and save some money.

Smarter Travel encourages residents to use sustainable travel options to get to their local shops and get discount from participating traders. The Smarter Travel stall provides information on cycle training and also gives information on cycle rides and local walks.

Dr Bike was also on hand at the stall to give cycles a free health check. Passers by who took part in a Smarter Travel questionnaire received a reward card which they can use in participating local shops.

This was the first of three Smarter Travel events at Hornsey Town hall.

The others are on:

  • 28 July - 11am to 4pm
  • 1 September - 11am to 4pm

Dr Bike will also be attending.
