Work on the landscaped community garden which has been built on disused green space on the corner of Hornsey Park Road and Clarendon Road was completed recently.

Residents wanted a formal opening to celebrate their achievement and thank the council who provided £3,000 from the Making a Difference Grant to get it up and running.

Local residents, who were fully supported by local councillors, led the project and will maintain the space.

Cllr Nilgun Canver, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said:

"Initiatives like this lead by residents create a real community spirit and I wish to thank the residents for their hard work and determination. They have collectively created a little area of calm for local residents to come out and sit among their community. It's lovely."
