Extra refuse services available for Passover

Thursday 26 March 2009

Special skips will be appearing in Seven Sisters in the run up to Passover.

These community skips, provided by Haringey Council, will be sited on Thursday 2 April between 4 - 7pm and Sunday 5 April between 9am – 12 noon at the following locations:

  • Outside of Grovelands Road shops
  • Cadoxton Avenue near the junction with Rostrevor Road
  • Elm Park Avenue near the junction with Wellington Avenue

Cabinet Member for Environment and Conservation, Cllr Brian Haley said:

"Haringey has a diverse community and I'm pleased we are able to offer these extra services for observers of the Jewish faith.

"We are committed to working with local communities to ensure that streets and public spaces are attractive, well-used and clean."

The council asks that residents refrain from putting out rubbish after the skips have been removed and ensure that bulky items, such as fridges and televisions, are left next to the skips.

In addition to the Passover refuse collection, on Wednesday 8 April the council will also provide a free white goods collection for the community.

Items that can be collected include fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, cookers, TVs, tyres, batteries and gas bottles. Please place these items outside of your house for collection on that day.

Residents requiring more information about the Passover skips or white goods collections can call Haringey Enterprise on 020 8885 7700.
