The school has improved its attendance record from 91.5% in 2005/06 to 93.3% in 2006/07.

Attendance at Haringey's four special schools is above the national average - 90% in the borough compared to 89.4% nationally. It's the second year in a row that Haringey's special school attendance has been above the national figure.

Headteacher Martin Doyle said:

"We're delighted to be presented with the shield and trophy in recognition of our learners' achievement.

"There are specific challenges relating to attendance at schools like ours, but we work in partnership with a range of care, welfare and medical agencies in the borough which support learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.

"Everyone in the school community - learners, parents and staff - works very hard to ensure learners are motivated to come to school, and attend regularly."

Cllr Liz Santry, cabinet member for children and young people, added:

"All of our special schools can be proud of their attendance figures - especially as they are better than the national average.

"But Moselle deserves particular praise for their record over the last couple of years."

Moselle is a co-educational special school for up to 121 pupils aged 4-16 years who have a wide range of moderate, complex and severe learning difficulties, including those who have emotional, language and communication needs and those with autism.

It has two sites: in Adams Road and Downhills Park Road.
