Eleven parks run by the council have retained their Green Flag status: Albert Road Rec, Bruce Castle Park, Chapmans Green, Chestnuts Park, Coldfall Wood, Downhills Park, Finsbury Park, Priory Park, Railway Fields, Stationers Park and Wood Green Cemetery.

Three other parks in the borough which are not run by the council have also been awarded Green Flags: Tottenham Marshes, Highgate Wood and Alexandra Palace.

Six local community gardens have also been awarded Green Pennants. The award is a national award that recognises high quality green spaces in England and Wales that are managed by voluntary and community groups. The winners in Haringey are:

  • The Gardens' Community Garden

Cllr Dilek Dogus, Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services, said:

"This is an outstanding success.  We have some of the best parks and community gardens in London.

"These awards are down to the commitment of our parks staff as well as the hard work by local residents who put so much time and effort into their community gardens."
