Tottenham teenager Kieran Sutton has secured a place with the National Youth Theatre.

Tottenham teenager Kieran Sutton has won a place at the National Youth Theatre.

Kieran, who is 17, is in his first year of studying A Levels at Haringey 6th Form Centre. He became one of the lucky few people who beat off about 4,000 others nationwide to get a place after attending a day-long audition process earlier this year.

He passed the auditions to become a member of the theatre and will now attend a 12-day course in August along with up to 30 other young budding actors.

The course, under the guidance of a professional director and specialist tutors, involves intense acting work to prepare him for opportunities to audition for performances across the country. Once he has completed the course, Kieran will remain a member of the National Theatre until he is 21 and gets the opportunity to get involved with a variety of exciting projects such as casting, workshops and community projects.

Kieran said:

“It’s really exciting and a great opportunity for me. I am really looking forward to going on the course. I hope someday I get the opportunity to take part in West End shows and work with some of the greatest actors around.”
