Fund open for applications

Publication date: Tuesday 23 August 2011

Haringey residents affected by the recent Tottenham riots are being invited to apply for financial help from a fund established by the council – which now stands at £23,000.

The Tottenham Fund is open to both local individuals and businesses who can show that they have suffered financially as a result of the disturbances.

Payments for successful applicants would cover loss of items such as personal possessions and business equipment - and would normally be up to a maximum of £500 per household or business.

Application forms are available here (Word, 139KB) – or call 020 8489 8345 for a form to be sent to you by post.

Applications will be considered by an independent panel of local people.

The Tottenham Fund is still open for donations. Contributions can be made in the following ways:

  • Pay online - using PayPal, credit card or your bank account (where available)
Visit our secure Tottenham Fund PayPal website (external link)
  • By cheque – Payable to Mayor’s Special Fund – Tottenham Fund
Send to: London Borough of Haringey, PO Box 55235, London, N22 9DF
  • Direct to the bank (either in a branch or by e-banking)
Payee: Mayor’s Special Fund – Tottenham Fund
    Sort Code: 60-24-23
    Account number: 90724828

The fund is expected to be in operation for a limited period and the council will ensure that the generous donations are used appropriately to meet the needs of the community. Requests could outstrip available funding and therefore decisions will be final and not open to appeal.
