Equal opportunities survey - last chance to Have your say
Publication date: Friday 27 January 2012
Haringey Council has been consulting on an updated equal opportunities policy. Residents and community groups have until 5pm on Friday 27 January to complete the online form.
The new policy will help the council to provide services that are right for the area, valued by everyone who lives in the borough and delivered by staff who reflect the community. It aims to reduce inequality, support community cohesion and lay the foundation for everyone to fulfil their potential.
Around 225,000 people live in Haringey, which is one of the UK’s most diverse local authority areas. Providing services that everyone can use in a borough of equal opportunity is one of the council’s top priorities.
Councillor Bernice Vanier, cabinet member for communities, said:
Equal opportunity is a core value which underpins everything we do in Haringey. Our plans and strategies will show how we will work towards even greater equality and these will be monitored. We will publish an annual report on performance, as well as asking local people to comment on how well we are doing.
We welcome your views on the policy.
