Publication date: Monday 6 September 2010
Haringey's Muslim community will be celebrating Eid on Sunday 12 September.
Eid is the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
The celebrations will be held from 2pm at the Civic Centre on Wood Green High Road.
The celebrations in Haringey will be mirrored across the world.
The day will include marbling and calligraphy, Nashid, songs, folk dancing, an Eid arts and craft workshop, and poetry reading by Haringey Library’s Bengali Writers Group.
Cllr Bernice Vanier, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Cohesion, said:
“Eid gives other residents the chance to learn more about Muslim culture.”
