Hundreds of people have been improving their career prospects, thanks to an event for Haringey families.
The Jobs and Careers Day was organised Haringey Council and its partners, and Tim Campbell - the first winner of BBC's The Apprentice - was the star guest.
Tim, who is now Chief Executive of the Bright Ideas Trust, ran a popular workshop on setting up your own business. Other workshops looked at subjects like interviews skills, how to apply for a council job, becoming a midwife, working in schools and how to handle your money.
There was also information on jobs, apprenticeships, careers advice, training, education and volunteering from a range of providers.
Council Leader Cllr Claire Kober, said:
“We are committed to helping our residents through these difficult times and events like this give people the practical advice and support they need.
“Residents were able to meet training providers and employers, and develop their skills through workshops. I hope they found it useful and inspiring.”
More than 250 people took part in activities at Northumberland Park Neighbourhood Resource Centre on March 11.
One attendee, Joseph, said:
"It was well organised and informative. I enjoyed the workshops, especially Tim’s."
The event was organised by Park Lane Children's Centre in partnership with Families into Work, Haringey Employment Action Network, Northumberland Park Community School and Homes for Haringey.
