Careers evening for Year 9 students
Thursday 4 February 2010
School students will be helped to plan their future, with a special event in Haringey next week.
The open evening will give information on future career and education opportunities to Year 9 pupils, their parents and carers.
Called “Routes to your Future”, it has been organised by Haringey Council’s Connexions service, the 14–19 team and Prospects Ltd. It will be held at Alexandra Palace from 4.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 9 February.
Young people will be able to take part in activities and workshops and learn about post-16 options by speaking to employers, local colleges, the sixth form centre, universities and Haringey’s 14 to 19 team.
Cllr Lorna Reith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:
“Year 9 is an important decision year for young people, as it’s the year they choose which GCSEs to take. This event will give them the information they need to decide which route to take and will help them see exactly what sort of future they could aim for.”
