I Love Tottenham brings together key sections of the community to celebrate all that is great about the area and to demonstrate unity in the aftermath of the riots.

By launching the campaign Haringey Council, Tottenham traders, Spurs and other partners are highlighting their commitment to making sure Tottenham emerges from the recent troubles better than ever before.

Cllr Strickland said:

"Rebuilding Tottenham - physically, economically and socially - is the council's number one priority and it will work with business leaders and the local community to make sure it gets it right.

"Our recovery action following the riots focused on maintaining business and community continuity - offering immediate support to those most affected. Moving forward, we’re concentrating on bolstering community, consumer and investor confidence in Tottenham, through projects such as I Love Tottenham.

Investor confidence is of course enormously important as we move forward with proposals to re-build Tottenham to be better than ever before. We’re determined to make that happen in consultation with communities and a wide range of other key stakeholders from local businesses to investors. With the support of the GLA we intend to drive work forward against ambitious timescales which we will report on regularly over the months and years ahead.”

Tottenham MP David Lammy said:

"I love Tottenham’s vibrancy, its diversity and its sense of fun. We will rise again and I am proud to call Tottenham home.”

Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, said:

"Like so many other local businesses, we were directly affected by the recent unrest and are delighted to support such an initiative that is designed to boost the local economy. The Club takes an active role in supporting our community, both as a major employer in the area and through the extensive work of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation."

Chair of the Tottenham Traders Partnership Moaz Nanjuwany said:

"The I love Tottenham Campaign is to celebrate the community and the area, which enjoys a really good multicultural community with people from across the globe living happily.”

Tottenham traders have for a long time worked enthusiastically to benefit the area and Moaz is eager for people to join them on the High Road for a party to experience the area’s great atmosphere.

Some of the visible signs of pride will be street banners, t-shirts, bags for shops and badges with the "I Love Tottenham" image. The council will also undertake environmental improvements of the area such as flower baskets, painted hoardings and lamppost banners.
