Alexandra ward by-election results

The results of the council by-election for Alexandra ward, held on October 9, are as follows:
- Joanna Karen Christophides (Labour) 772
- David Douglas (Conservative) 443
- James Patterson (Green) 221
- Frederick Halsey (BNP) 27
- Nigel Peter Scott (Liberal Democrat) 1,460
Nigel Scott is therefore elected.
Electorate: 8362
Turnout: 2,927 (35 per cent)
The by-election was caused by the resignation of Cllr Wayne Hoban (Liberal Democrat).
