Employment

The most common way to measure unemployment figures is to use the claimant count rates.  The Greater London Authority (GLA) publish these figures monthly at both borough and ward level.

A table showing the trend in the rate of unemployment in Tottenham and Haringey is attached at the bottom of the page.

Haringey

• In June 2006, 8,365 (7.9%) of Haringey residents were registered unemployed
• During the period November 2005 and June 2006 unemployment across the borough stayed the same at 7.9%.

Tottenham Green

• In June 2006, 560 (10.5%) of Tottenham Green residents were registered unemployed
• During the period November 2005 and June 2006 unemployment across Tottenham Green rose from 9.5% to 10.5%
• Out of the 625 London wards, Tottenham Green has the 22nd highest unemployment rate.
