Employment

The most common way to measure unemployment figures is to use the claimant count rates.  The Greater London Authority (GLA) publish these figures monthly at both borough and ward level.

A table showing the trend in the rate of unemployment in Northumberland Park and Haringey is attached at the bottom of the page.

Haringey

  • In June 2006, 8,410 (7.9%) of Haringey residents were registered unemployed
  • During the period November 2005 and June 2006 unemployment across the borough stayed at 7.9%.

Northumberland Park

  • In June 2006, 945 (19.8%) of Northumberland Park residents were registered unemployed
  • During the period November 2005 and June 2006 unemployment across Northumberland Park rose from 19.4% to 19.8%
  • Out of the 625 London wards, Northumberland Park has the highest unemployment rate.
