On Track

On Track forms part of the Government's Crime Reduction Programme and is therefore a part of the Youth Offending Service.

It aims to reduce the risk of young people becoming involved in offending by providing a range of evidence based early-intervention support early to children and their families.  The focus is primarily on service provision for children aged 4-12 whilst also considering links for younger and older age groups.

Services provided include

  • Breakfast clubs
  • In-school activities and support
  • Holiday play schemes
  • Parent support.

There is a home-school liaison focus and an assertive outreach programme.  The programme is now closely linked to the Children's Fund and has funding to 2008.
