Changes to the Ward Boundaries

For the first time in over a generation Haringey's wards have changed. This is the result of a review by the Boundary Commission whose job is to ensure that the number of electors in wards are as equal as possible.

In Haringey this review led has led to a reduction in the number of wards from 23 to 19. Each of the new wards will elect three councillors, whereas in the old structure some wards elected two councillors and others three.

The new wards came into operation in May 2002. The first major release of data for the new ward boundaries is from the 2001 Census. Data such as the Claimant Count is also now available for the new wards.
