Office for National Statistics sub-national population projections
Background
The 2008 based sub-national population projections (SNPP) for England were published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on 27 May 2010. The projections provide data on the population, broken down by gender and 5-year age groups to 85+, down to every local authority in England for each year from 2008 to 2033.
It is important to note that the ONS projections are based solely recent demographic trends (i.e. births deaths and migration) and do not consider, for example, the effects likely future housing developments will have on an area.
