Population Estimates

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) released the 2008 mid-year population estimates on 27 August 2009. These are the most up to date estimates about the national population available. The latest estimates show that:

Haringey's population now stands at 226,200. This is an increase of 0.7 per cent from the population in mid-2007 (224,700).

  • Haringey accounts for 3 per cent of the total London population. This remains unchanged from mid-2007.
  • London’s population increased by 0.6 per cent (62,900) from a 2007 figure of 7,556,900 to currently stand at 7,619,800
  • The United Kingdom (UK) population has grown to above 61,383,200.  This is driven by natural change (+220,500) and international migration (+187,300) the UK population has increased by 0.7 per cent (407,800) compared to the revised mid-2007 figure.
