Income deprivation domain
The Income deprivation domain measures the proportion of people in an area who are living on low incomes. This is done by looking at people who are on means-tested benefits such as Income Support and Working Families Tax Credit.
Key Points
- Approximately 45% of Haringey Super Output Areas (SOAs) are amongst the 10% most deprived in the country
- These SOAs are mainly concentrated in eastern Haringey
- Only approximately 17% of London SOAs are amongst the 10% in the country
- Income Deprivation Affecting Children - there are pockets of extreme deprivation in eastern Haringey
- Income Deprivation Affecting Older People - this follows a similar pattern to the overall measure of Income deprivation.
