Crime deprivation

The Crime Domain draws upon the following as indicators, using Police Force data for April 2002 - March 2003 that has been constrained to Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) level:

  • Burglary, using 4 recorded crime offence types
  • Theft, using 5 recorded crime offence types
  • Criminal damage, using 10 recorded crime offence types
  • Violence, using 14 recorded crime offence types.

Key points

  • Approximately 31% of Haringey Super Output Areas (SOAs) are amongst the 10% most deprived in the country
  • Levels of deprivation in Haringey are evenly spread across the borough with no clear east-west split
  • Only 17% of London SOAs are amongst the 10% most deprived in the country
  • Levels of deprivation are mainly concentrated in Inner London boroughs.
