Bring back Banksy

Banksy artwork

Many Haringey residents were surprised and excited when Banksy mural ‘Slave Labour’ appeared on the side wall of Wood Green High Road’s Poundland last summer.

The artwork attracted so many visitors from across Haringey, London and the UK that at Turnpike Lane Tube station signposts were displayed to show people the way to the painting.

The Banksy fast became a much-loved local landmark. But it disappeared in the middle of February: removed from the wall under cover of tarpaulin and apparently making its way to a United States auction house - where it was set to go under the hammer for upwards of $300,000.

Haringey Council is backing the campaign to bring the Banksy back to where it belongs in the heart of the community. Haringey wants its Banksy back!
