What is the Graduate Training Scheme?

The Graduate Trainee Scheme is a programme designed to attract and recruit graduates to contribute to Haringey Council’s objective of Achieving Excellence. We want to continue to develop our vibrant and diverse workforce by recruiting more quality graduate trainees.

The scheme is supported by the Chief Executive’s Management Board.  It is delivered as a strategic partnership between the participating Directorates, People & Organisational Development and the Graduates.

Our first four Graduate cohorts have successfully introduced new ideas and ways of working to the Council. Directorates now regard the scheme as an essential part of their resourcing strategy.

The Graduate Training Scheme offers two streams for development; a generic and a professional stream. In both streams, our graduates are developed through carefully selected experiences, building their managerial and professional capabilities. Our graduates find themselves supporting project teams, working closely with Senior Managers, sharing their knowledge and learning with peers and colleagues. Alongside this, our graduates are given training and development to build the core skills as required by the person specification for their selected career path.
