Continuing Professional Development

We mean to keep our teachers

Our continuous professional development is extremely important and our professional development service is about much more than running courses.

An extensive programme of training and development is provided for our teachers.

  • We have a locally based Professional Development Centre (PDC) and also offer school-based programmes.
  • National experts, practitioners from our local schools and PDC-based staff present the training programmes, which are organised to address national initiatives with a Haringey perspective.

Training needs are identified:

  • Through school development plans
  • The children's service Education Development Plan
  • course evaluations and link inspector meetings with Headteachers

We also offer assistance in bidding for funds to support professional development.

We have assisted a teacher in bidding for one of the DfE’ Best Practice Research Scholarships, (which offers funds to support action research). We have a vested interested in providing our teachers with high quality training.
